1,800 Volunteers Pull 360-Ton Japanese Castle by Hand

Nearly 2,000 volunteers pulled a historic Japanese castle tower more than six feet back to its foundation using nothing but ropes and an ancient preservation technique.

The project drew 8,000 applicants from around the world, all eager to help save a piece of history.
