Nearly 30,000 United Airlines flight attendants just secured a groundbreaking contract with an average 31% pay raise, boarding pay for the first time ever, and $741 million in retroactive compensation.

The deal, approved by 82% of voters, also brings 10 weeks of paid maternity leave and ends the grueling 24-hour on-call system.
