80-Tonne 'Esky Lid' Shields Brisbane Station from Floods

Brisbane just unveiled a massive 80-tonne mechanical barrier that descends from the ceiling to protect its deepest underground train station from flooding.

The ingenious "Esky Lid" can seal off the station entrance and withstand floods that would only happen once every 10,000 years.
