California Condors Soar From 22 Birds to Over 600

North America's largest land bird was down to just 22 survivors in the 1980s, but an ambitious rescue effort has brought California condors back from the brink.

Today, more than 600 condors exist thanks to breeding programs across the western United States, including a key facility in Boise, Idaho.
