Charlotte Hospital That Served Segregated South Gets Marker

Good Samaritan Hospital, which provided life-saving care to African American patients during segregation, will receive a North Carolina Highway Historical Marker this week.

The hospital served Charlotte's Black community for over a century, from 1891 to 1996.
