Former Parking Lot Becomes Prairie in Downtown Lawrence

Volunteers are transforming a downtown Lawrence parking lot into a 4,000-plant native prairie where anyone can experience Kansas ecosystems without leaving the city.

The free space opens this October with walking paths, educational gardens, and seasonal community workdays.
