Gambia Appoints Special Prosecutor for Justice Cases

The Gambia is moving forward with prosecutions for human rights crimes committed between 1994 and 2017, appointing an experienced British barrister to lead the effort.

The new office will pursue justice for 393 victims who testified about torture, murder, and sexual violence.
