Hyundai Steel Cuts 22,000 Tons of Emissions at Louisiana Plant

After pressure from community groups, Hyundai Steel is switching nine industrial heaters from gas to electric at its planned Louisiana facility, cutting greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to taking 5,000 cars off the road.

The changes also slash smog-forming pollution by 500 tons annually in an area already burdened by industrial emissions.
