When everyone said his research was a waste of money, Dr.

Sudhangshu Kumar Banerji proved them wrong by creating India's first artificial rainfall with hydrogen balloons instead of expensive planes.

His work from 70 years ago is now helping India tackle droughts and water scarcity today.
