Japan's Moon Solar Ring Could Beam Clean Energy to Earth

Engineers in Japan have designed a massive ring of solar panels to wrap around the Moon's equator, capturing constant sunlight and beaming electricity to Earth wirelessly.

While the technology is still theoretical and unfunded, pieces of space-based solar power are already being tested in orbit.
