French swimming star Léon Marchand claimed his first European Championship title in the 200m butterfly, winning by more than a body length at the same pool where he captured Olympic gold two years ago.

The 24-year-old fought through injury concerns to deliver a thrilling comeback victory in front of roaring home fans.
