Maine Counts 20 Million River Herring in Historic Comeback

After nearly disappearing from Maine's rivers, 20 million alewife fish surged upstream this year following decades of dam removal and fishing limits.

It's the largest run in generations for a species once so abundant you could scoop them up by hand.
