Maui Locals Help Visitors Stay Safe at Unguarded Beaches

A new volunteer program is putting local ocean knowledge to work, helping visitors understand dangerous conditions at Maui's unguarded beaches before tragedy strikes.

The Aloha Kai Safety Ambassadors launched after two visitors drowned in May, part of 207 fatal ocean drownings on Maui over the past decade.
