NC's First Black Hospital Gets Historic Recognition

After being rejected once before, Good Samaritan Hospital—North Carolina's first privately funded Black hospital—finally received a state historical marker honoring its 70 years of service.

Former nurses who worked there in the 1960s reunited at the unveiling ceremony to celebrate the friendship and legacy born from a place that served their community when no one else would.
