New Railway Cuts China-Europe Shipping by Week, Lifts Kyrgyz

A groundbreaking 300-mile railway connecting China, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan will shave a full week off shipping times between Asia and Europe while transforming one of Central Asia's poorest regions.

The $4 billion project already employs 5,000 workers and could generate $300 million annually for Kyrgyzstan alone.
