NYC Approves $500M Tax on Luxury Second Homes

New York City just passed a tax on ultra-luxury second homes worth $5 million or more, generating half a billion dollars annually for childcare, safer streets, and cleaner neighborhoods.

The tax only affects ultra-wealthy non-residents who own property in the city but don't live there.
