Ruth Simmons Creates Endowment Honoring Late Sister

Former university president Ruth Simmons established a permanent endowment at Texas Southern University to expand breast cancer prevention in Southeast Texas, honoring her sister Nora B.

Wilson who passed away in May after surviving breast cancer.

The fund will support screening, education, and outreach in nine underserved counties.
