Scientists Explore California-Sized Ocean Area Near Wake Island

A team aboard the E/V Nautilus is exploring 407,241 square kilometers of mostly unmapped Pacific Ocean floor near Wake Island, one of Earth's most remote areas.

The 31-day expedition will survey deep-sea life, collect geological data, and document World War II shipwrecks while streaming discoveries live to the world.
