Toronto Zoo Welcomes Rare Endangered Pygmy Hippo Calf

A 20-year-old pygmy hippo named Kindia has given birth to a healthy female calf at the Toronto Zoo, bringing new hope for a species with only 2,000 to 3,000 left in the wild.

The newborn was standing within 15 minutes and nursing just hours after birth.
