Two Million Walk to Costa Rica's Beloved Virgin Shrine

Nearly two million pilgrims completed Costa Rica's annual Romería pilgrimage today, walking up to 174 miles to reach the Basílica de Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles for the feast of La Negrita.

This year's centennial celebration of their patron saint brought an extraordinary outpouring of faith and community.
