6-Year-Old Iranian Girl Spins Top Into World Record

Most kids spend their sixth birthday blowing out candles and opening presents. Hana Rezaei from Tehran, Iran, spent hers spinning a top into the record books.

On May 31, 2025, Hana set the Guinness World Record for longest time to spin a spinning top in the Under-16 category with an impressive 36.55 seconds. Her achievement came after discovering that Guinness keeps special records just for kids, with no adults allowed to compete.

"My dad showed me the records for kids, I like those ones the best," Hana told Guinness World Records. "I sometimes try to do them myself because they look fun and cool."

The road to success wasn't smooth. Hana practiced countless times, watching her top wobble and fall before she mastered the technique. Her secret? Simple determination.

"I think the secret is not giving up," she explained. "Lots of times, my top didn't spin, but I kept trying until I learned how to make it spin properly."

When her record got verified, Hana brought her official certificate to school where teachers and classmates threw her a celebration. The young record holder says joining the Guinness family feels "really nice."

Hana's story proves that world records aren't just for adults with years of training. Her message to other kids is powerful: "Definitely try! When you succeed, you feel really great, like a real champion."
