Boca Raton Honors MLK With Full Day of Unity Events

On January 19, Boca Raton residents will gather for a day that celebrates what brings people together rather than what divides them.

The City of Boca Raton has organized a full schedule of free events honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., starting at 8 a.m. with a community breakfast at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church. Anyone can show up, share a meal, and connect with neighbors before the day's activities begin.

At 10 a.m., participants will walk together in a Unity March from the MLK Jr. Monument to Mizner Park Amphitheater. The march symbolizes the journey toward justice and equality that Dr. King championed, with community members literally walking side by side.

A formal ceremony follows at 10:30 a.m. at the amphitheater, featuring speakers who will reflect on Dr. King's vision of justice, equality, and nonviolent social change. City officials are encouraging faith leaders, families, and community organizations to attend and share in the message.

The day concludes with a Unity Celebration from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., also at the amphitheater. The free event offers families a chance to spend the afternoon together in a space dedicated to community connection.
