Kaduna Governor Chooses Compassion Over Celebration on 55th Birthday
Kaduna Governor Uba Sani celebrates his 55th birthday by donating food and cash to orphanages and hospitals, embodying a spirit of community care and compassion.
In a heartwarming display of community service, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani transformed his 55th birthday into an extraordinary day of giving, prioritizing the needs of vulnerable citizens over traditional birthday festivities.
On December 31st, the governor's foundation orchestrated a comprehensive humanitarian outreach targeting orphanages and public hospitals across Kaduna metropolis and Zaria, distributing essential supplies and hope to those most in need.
The Uba Sani Foundation visited seven orphanage homes and eight major public health facilities, delivering carefully selected aid including 50kg rice bags, spaghetti, cooking oil, seasoning cubes, pomade, soap, sanitary pads, and blankets to help children weather the harsh harmattan season.
Executive Director Mallam Ibrahim Dan-Halilu explained the foundation's strategic approach: "The purpose was to remember the less privileged and assist them in entering the New Year with high spirits." Beyond material support, the foundation distributed cash donations to over 200 hospital patients to help cover medical expenses.
Benefiting institutions included Umm Aytam Orphanage, Al-Ihsan Orphanage, Adonai Children and Widows Home, and multiple hospitals such as Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital and Yusuf Dantsoho General Hospital.
The initiative reflects the Uba Sani Foundation's broader mission of community empowerment, having previously awarded scholarships to 2,000 students, trained 5,000 women and youth, and provided medical support to 10,000 individuals since its establishment in 2018.
Grateful beneficiaries responded with heartfelt prayers for the governor's continued health and commitment to humanitarian service, transforming a personal milestone into a powerful moment of collective compassion.
