The company is expanding its lifestyle category by introducing the LG Gallery TV, a sophisticated display designed to seamlessly blend artwork into home decor when not in traditional viewing mode. This strategic entry follows the growing trend established by Samsung's The Frame, with competitors like TCL and Hisense also exploring similar design concepts.

The new Gallery TV will leverage LG's Gallery+ service, launched earlier this year, which offers thousands of visual displays ranging from classic art pieces to cinematic imagery and even gaming scenes. Similar to Samsung's Art Store, the service provides a limited free option, but full functionality requires a subscription, creating an immersive visual experience for consumers.

Technically distinct from LG's G Series OLED TVs, the Gallery TV is a mini-LED television featuring a specialized screen that reduces glare and minimizes reflections. This design creates an art-like viewing experience, likely achieved through a sophisticated matte coating. While OLED technology offers superior picture quality, its susceptibility to image retention makes mini-LED a more practical choice for prolonged static image display.

LG has thoughtfully designed the television's aesthetic, taking inspiration from competitors like Hisense by including a customizable frame. The default frame comes in white, with an optional wood-colored alternative available for purchase. The Gallery TV will be available in two sizes - 55 and 65 inches - though pricing details have not yet been announced.
