Morocco Trains 261 Teachers in AI and Python Coding

Morocco just certified 261 teachers in artificial intelligence and programming, and that's only the beginning of a nationwide push to bring cutting-edge tech skills into every classroom.

The Ministry of National Education signed an expanded partnership with Samsung Electronics this week in Rabat. The goal is simple but powerful: give teachers the tools to teach AI and coding, then watch those skills ripple out to students across every region of Morocco.

The timing couldn't be better. As AI reshapes how we work and learn, Morocco is making sure its next generation isn't left behind. The Samsung Innovation Campus has already reached thousands of students, teaching them Python programming and artificial intelligence fundamentals.

To celebrate the progress, the ministry hosted the second national Python programming competition on Monday. Twelve teams from regions across Morocco competed, with students from Drâa-Tafilalet taking first place. Rabat-Salé-Kénitra claimed second, and Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra finished third.

Education Minister Mohamed Saad Berrada praised Samsung's role in building Morocco's digital capacity. He emphasized that training teachers first creates a multiplier effect, with each certified educator going on to inspire and teach dozens of students every year.

Samsung's president for the region, Hong Seok Lee, sees Morocco as a model for how partnerships between governments and tech companies can unlock opportunity. The company plans to expand its AI training programs even further in 2026, betting that mastery of these tools will help Moroccan students compete on the global stage.

The Ripple Effect: When a country invests in teacher training, the benefits compound year after year. Those 261 newly certified teachers will reach thousands of students in 2026 alone. Many of those students will go on to tech careers, start businesses, or teach others. Some may become the programmers and AI specialists who solve problems we haven't even imagined yet.
