On Monday, Major General Ibikunle Ajose, General Officer Commanding 8 Division of the Nigerian Army, presented 20 brand new motorcycles to women in the Giginya Cantonment community. The heartwarming ceremony, held at the NAOWA Leisure Park, marks a significant step forward in supporting the economic dreams of military families.

The initiative, part of the GOC's Barracks Women Empowerment Scheme, is designed with a clear and compassionate purpose: to help women traders expand their businesses, reach more customers, and build brighter futures for their families. "This empowerment programme is designed to enhance the livelihoods of women engaged in petty trading by improving their mobility, access to markets and ability to grow their businesses," Major General Ajose explained with evident pride during the handover ceremony.

The program reflects directives from the Chief of Army Staff to prioritize the morale and well-being of troops and their families through meaningful, practical empowerment initiatives that create lasting positive change.

Hajiya Amina Adamu, the Magajiya of Giginya Cantonment, received the motorcycles on behalf of all beneficiaries with gratitude and excitement.
