Teacher Throws Bride's Shower in Preschool Where They Met

A Texas groom pulled off the ultimate full-circle surprise when he threw his fiancée a bridal shower in the preschool classroom where their love story began 20 years earlier.

Zoe Kampf walked into her classroom at Shlenker School in Houston expecting a normal day. Instead, she found her students dressed in floral garlands and bow ties, ready to crown her with a tiara and sash while her fiancé Sean Folloder stood beaming in the middle of the room.

The couple first crossed paths as four-year-olds at the same school. Sean's grandmother, Barbie Freedman, taught at Shlenker and remembered both children from her class.

Fast forward to summer 2021, when their paths reconnected at camp. Freedman, now working as camp director, played matchmaker by sending Sean on little errands whenever Zoe needed something. She eventually suggested the pair go on a date, and the rest became history.

Both became teachers themselves, with Sean teaching geometry at a nearby high school and Zoe returning to Shlenker. They got engaged on December 23, 2024, and married shortly after.

The surprise shower brought together Zoe's students, their parents, and school staff for cookies and decorations. "She is such a great teacher and everyone, from her kids to her kids' parents to the staff, loves her," Sean said about the celebration.

Freedman watched the relationship blossom from its earliest days. "They are a wonderful couple and really devoted to one another," she told the Jewish Herald-Voice. "It has been really fun to watch them grow up and grow together."

The classroom celebration showed how teachers touch lives while building their own. For Zoe and Sean, the room where they learned their ABCs became the perfect place to celebrate before saying "I do."
