Texas Man's Videos Turn Empty Market Stalls Into Businesses

A man in Texas is using his phone and a simple idea to transform the lives of small business owners across the state.

David Dominguez travels to farmers markets looking for something most people walk past: vendors sitting alone with empty tables and no customers. When he finds them, he stops to chat, learns their story, and shares a short video online with one message: "Only buying from vendors with NO customers at the farmers market."

For Dawna Thompson and her small jerky business, one of his videos changed everything. After Dominguez featured her booth at a Rosenberg farmers market, she and her husband woke up to their phones exploding with notifications.

"We hear our phone just like ding, ding, ding, ding, ding," Dawna told Click2Houston. At first, they worried their website had been hacked.

Instead, orders were flooding in from across the country. "We still have like 2,200 orders," Dawna said. "Every time we ship, we just keep getting more in."

Dominguez started making these videos in 2025 after losing his job. With extra time on his hands and a family who loved visiting markets, he saw an opportunity to do something good.

"When I started seeing I could help businesses, I thought maybe I could make some content and help them that way," he said.

Now he travels across Texas to markets in Austin, Dallas, San Antonio, and El Paso. His goal is simple: find vendors who need visibility and give them a platform.

The Ripple Effect

What started as one man's response to being laid off has become a lifeline for small business owners trying to make it work. Each video reaches thousands of potential customers who might never have discovered these vendors otherwise.

The impact goes beyond sales numbers. These small business owners gain confidence, community support, and proof that their products matter to people.
