Tiger Woods Raises $50M for Kids' STEM Education at 50

Tiger Woods turned his 50th birthday bash into a $50 million celebration for kids who need it most. The golf icon hosted 300 VIP guests at Florida's Breakers resort, where Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank alone pledged $20 million to the cause.

The money goes to Woods' TGR Foundation, which he launched in 1996 to bring educational opportunities and STEM courses to underserved communities. Foundation staffers were heard cheering "Woo hoo, 50 million!" as the donations rolled in Wednesday night.

"I have immense respect and admiration for Tiger, not only for his legendary career, but for the way he continues to lead with purpose off the course," Blank said. His $20 million gift will build TGR's fifth learning center in Atlanta.

What started as golf clinics around the country has grown into something much bigger. Woods shifted his focus to building permanent learning labs where students can explore science, technology, engineering and math.

The foundation now claims to have positively impacted 3 million children through its programs. That's 3 million kids who gained access to resources and opportunities they might not have found otherwise.

The Ripple Effect

Blank's donation shows how one person's generosity can inspire others to give big. The event brought together business leaders, athletes, and philanthropists who believe education changes lives.

Each learning center becomes a permanent fixture in its community, offering after-school programs and mentorship long after the ribbon cutting. Students gain hands-on experience with technology and build skills that open doors to college and careers.

"Tonight was a reminder that the legacy I'm most proud of isn't on the golf course," Woods said. "It's the work we've done to positively impact the lives of students through TGR Foundation."

The intimate celebration included rock legend Jon Bon Jovi performing an acoustic set and a feast honoring Woods' five Masters victories. But the real victory happened when those donations came through.

Woods says he's excited to reach more young people from communities in need as the foundation expands with support from partners like Blank.
