In a remarkable display of humanitarian commitment, United Nations teams and their partners are maintaining large-scale relief operations across Gaza and the occupied West Bank, bringing hope and essential support to hundreds of thousands of people facing difficult winter conditions.

UN Spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric shared encouraging updates from the ground, revealing the scope of ongoing humanitarian efforts that continue to make a meaningful difference in people's lives. Over recent days, aid workers have successfully distributed 7,000 dignity kits, more than 5,600 family hygiene kits, and an impressive 1.3 million bars of soap, reaching approximately 200,000 people across both northern and southern Gaza.

As temperatures drop, humanitarian teams have prioritized keeping families warm and dry. More than 16,000 households have received tents, tarpaulins, and weatherproofing materials to help reinforce their shelters against winter storms. Thousands of blankets, mattresses, and bedding kits are being distributed alongside kitchen sets and clothing to improve living conditions for families enduring challenging circumstances.

Access to clean water remains a priority, and the results are impressive. Thirty-six partner organizations are working together to distribute more than 21,500 cubic meters of fresh water daily to over 2,300 collection points throughout the territory, ensuring families have access to this most basic necessity.

Perhaps most inspiring is the dedication to education despite the obstacles. More than 420 temporary learning spaces are now operational across Gaza, serving over 230,000 students with support from approximately 5,500 committed teachers. Renovation work continues on public schools, with newly restored classrooms in Gaza City now welcoming more than 1,800 children back to learning—a powerful investment in the region's future.

Healthcare access continues as well, with the World Health Organization recently facilitating the medical evacuation of 18 patients along with 36 family companions for treatment outside Gaza. These critical medical interventions demonstrate the international community's commitment to saving lives and providing essential care.

In the West Bank, UN teams are responding to winter weather damage in Bedouin and herding communities, working to repair and replace damaged shelters and provide necessary support.
