Vietnam Powers 27,000 Homes with New 30 MW Wind Farm in Mekong Delta

In a wonderful step forward for Vietnam's clean energy journey, the Sunpro Wind Farm has officially begun operations in the lush Mekong Delta region, bringing sustainable electricity to thousands of families and marking a bright chapter in the country's environmental story.

Located in Thới Thuận Commune, Vĩnh Long Province, this impressive 30 megawatt wind facility achieved commercial operations on December 19, 2025. The project is now proudly supplying clean, renewable power to approximately 27,000 households, helping families throughout the region while reducing carbon emissions and protecting the environment for future generations.

Pacifico Energy Vietnam, the development platform behind this inspiring project, partnered closely with local communities and government authorities to bring this vision to life. The facility represents a total investment of VND 1,600 billion and will generate 89 gigawatt hours of clean electricity annually, all backed by a reassuring 20-year agreement with Vietnam Electricity Group that ensures stable, long-term energy supply.

"Sunpro's commissioning represents a major milestone," shared Nate Franklin, Chairman of Pacifico Energy Group, emphasizing the company's dedication to Vietnam's energy security and sustainable growth. The project exemplifies what's possible when international expertise combines with local knowledge and commitment.

This wind farm is Pacifico's second operational power project in Vietnam, following their successful 40 MW Mũi Né Solar Power Plant. Together, these facilities demonstrate the growing momentum behind Vietnam's renewable energy transformation and the country's determination to build a cleaner, more sustainable future.

The Ripple Effect goes far beyond the immediate power generation. The wind farm features advanced Goldwind GW155-4.5MW turbines, representing some of the most efficient wind energy technology available today. This technological excellence ensures maximum power generation while minimizing environmental impact, a win for both progress and preservation.

Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade (VietinBank), one of Vietnam's largest state-owned banks, provided VND 750 billion in financing for the project, demonstrating strong institutional confidence in renewable energy's future. This financial backing from a major Vietnamese institution underscores the national commitment to sustainable development.

Chief Executive Officer of Pacifico Energy Vietnam, Phạm Quốc Anh, celebrated the achievement, noting the disciplined execution and wonderful cooperation with government partners that made the project possible.
