VinFast, the country's pioneering electric vehicle manufacturer, has achieved a remarkable milestone that deserves celebration: delivering approximately 170,000 electric vehicles to Vietnamese customers in 2025—nearly double their 2024 numbers.

The achievement represents more than just impressive sales figures. It's a testament to what's possible when a nation rallies behind clean transportation and sustainable manufacturing. VinFast has earned the distinction of being Vietnam's top-selling automotive brand of any kind, a remarkable feat for a relatively young company in such a competitive industry.

The heart of this success story beats in Hai Phong, where VinFast's highly automated factory produced its 200,000th vehicle on the final day of 2025. The facility is nothing short of impressive, employing over 18,000 people working in flexible shifts and utilizing more than 1,200 ABB robots with 90% automation. During December's peak production period, the plant achieved a daily record of 1,062 vehicles—that's roughly 43 vehicles rolling off the line every hour, matching the productivity of some of the world's largest automotive facilities.

The 200,000th vehicle was particularly meaningful: a Limo Green, a seven-seater electric MPV that has captured the hearts of Vietnamese families. This model alone sold 9,642 units in November 2025, setting an all-time monthly sales record for a single vehicle model in Vietnam's automotive history.

But VinFast isn't content with domestic success alone. The company is thoughtfully expanding its footprint across Asia, launching operations at three new factories in 2025—one in Ha Tinh, Vietnam, another in Tamil Nadu, India, and a third in West Java, Indonesia. These facilities represent jobs, technology transfer, and clean transportation options for millions of people across the region.

In the Philippines, Green GSM EV taxis using VinFast's Nerio Green model are already hitting the streets, providing drivers with cost-effective, environmentally friendly vehicles while reducing urban air pollution. The factory also produces electric motorcycles and buses, offering comprehensive electric mobility solutions.

Trinh Van Ngan, Deputy CEO of Global Manufacturing at VinFast, captured the spirit perfectly: "Producing 200,000 electric vehicles in 2025 at the VinFast Hai Phong plant alone is a testament to the capability and relentless dedication of more than 18,000 employees working at the facility."

While breaking into established markets like the United States and Europe takes time—just as it did for Korean automakers Hyundai and Kia decades ago—VinFast is playing the long game with patience and strategic thinking. The company is focusing on nearby Asian markets where their vehicles can make an immediate positive impact on air quality and energy independence.
