Volunteers Refresh Safe Spaces for Grieving Youth

When children walk through the doors at Imagine, a center for coping with loss, they deserve to feel immediately safe and valued. Thanks to volunteers from accounting firm Wiss & Company, that's exactly what they'll find.

The team spent a full day at Imagine's Mountainside, New Jersey center, rolling up their sleeves to refresh two important spaces. They assembled new furniture for the Teen Support Group Room and carefully painted frames for the Memory Hall, where young people honor those they've lost.

Diana Miller, a partner at Wiss and former board chair at Imagine, organized the volunteer day. She brought colleagues who transformed the practical task of furniture assembly and painting into an act of community care.

"We are so grateful to everyone from Wiss who showed up and worked so hard," said Kristin Imbimbo, Imagine's Program and Partnership Manager. The volunteers helped the center accomplish updates that staff couldn't manage alone while supporting grieving families daily.

At Imagine, the physical environment isn't just decoration. It's part of the healing process for children and teens navigating one of life's hardest experiences.
