10 Ducklings Rescued From Storm Drain in Ayer, Mass.

A frantic mama duck got the Mother's Day gift she needed most on Sunday morning when police, firefighters, and animal control officers teamed up to rescue her 10 ducklings from a storm drain in Ayer, Massachusetts.

Just before 10 a.m., first responders rushed to Washington Street after getting reports that baby ducklings had fallen into the drain. The tiny birds were trapped and unable to climb out on their own.

The rescue wasn't quick or simple. Crews worked together for about an hour, carefully coordinating their efforts to retrieve each duckling from the drain without injury.
