Editorial Standards

How we find, verify, and publish good news.

📋

Our Editorial Process

BrightWire uses a combination of advanced AI technology and human editorial oversight to deliver positive, accurate news every day. Here's how our process works:

1

Source Scanning

Our system continuously monitors 300+ trusted news sources worldwide, identifying stories that highlight human progress, kindness, scientific breakthroughs, and community wins.

2

AI Classification

Each article passes through our AI classification system, which evaluates positivity, relevance, readability, and engagement potential using a weighted scoring model.

3

Content Rewriting

Articles that pass classification are rewritten in BrightWire's signature warm, accessible style. We always attribute original sources and link back to the original reporting.

4

Quality Scoring

Every story receives a BrightWire Score (1-100) based on positivity (30%), readability (25%), engagement potential (25%), and relevance (20%). Top-rated stories (90+) are featured as "Sunny's Picks."

Source Standards

We source stories exclusively from established, reputable news organizations and verified outlets. Our source network includes:

  • Major news agencies: Reuters, Associated Press, BBC, NPR, and similar outlets with established editorial standards.
  • Specialized positive news outlets: Good News Network, Positive News, Reasons to be Cheerful, and other curated sources.
  • Science and innovation publications: Nature, Science Daily, MIT Technology Review, and other peer-reviewed sources.
  • Regional and local outlets: Verified local newspapers and community news organizations.

We do not source from anonymous blogs, unverified social media posts, or outlets known for publishing misinformation.

🔍

Accuracy & Fact-Checking

BrightWire is committed to accuracy. While we focus on positive stories, we never sacrifice truth for feel-good content.

  • Every story is sourced from at least one verified news outlet with a track record of accurate reporting.
  • We always link to the original source, so readers can verify the information themselves.
  • Key facts, statistics, and quotes are preserved from the original reporting.
  • Our AI deduplication system prevents the same story from being published multiple times under different headlines.
🔄

Corrections Policy

We take errors seriously. If you spot an inaccuracy in any BrightWire story:

  • Report it: Contact us via our Contact page with the article link and details of the error.
  • Swift correction: We aim to review and correct factual errors within 24 hours of being notified.
  • Transparency: Significant corrections are clearly noted at the end of the article with the date of the correction.
  • Removal: In cases where a story is found to be fundamentally inaccurate, it will be removed entirely with an explanation.
