10,000 Celebrate Culture at Astana's EuroFest 2026

More than 10,000 residents and visitors turned a park in Astana, Kazakhstan into a celebration of unity, culture, and friendship on May 24.

EuroFest 2026 brought together 17 European Union nations in Gashyktar Park for a day of music, food, and cultural exchange. The festival showcased everything from Spanish flamenco to Polish dances, while visitors sampled paella and explored traditions from across the continent.

Families participated in an educational quest that highlighted projects connecting Europe and Kazakhstan. The interactive stands featured real cooperation happening between the regions in areas like water management, climate action, and digital education.

Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, and Sweden all participated. Each country shared their traditions, tourist destinations, and educational opportunities with curious festival goers.

EU Ambassador to Kazakhstan Aleška Simkić described how the annual event has grown into a powerful symbol. "EuroFest has become a symbol of openness, mutual respect and strong cooperation," she said, noting the thousands who came to learn about European languages, traditions, and partnership projects.
