12-Year-Old's Art Will Ride Brazil's World Cup Bus

Leo Silveira is about to see his artwork travel the world on the side of Brazil's national soccer team bus.

The 12-year-old sixth-grader from New Bedford, Massachusetts, won an international FIFA art contest with his vibrant "Vamos Brasil" design. His creation beat out thousands of entries from young artists around the globe and will be displayed on Brazil's official team bus throughout the entire 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Leo, who attends Nativity Preparatory School and serves as an altar boy at Fall River's Cathedral of Saint Mary of the Assumption, drew inspiration from Brazilian fans and a photo from a Vasco da Gama match. The colorful piece captures the energy and passion of his home country's soccer culture.

The prize includes something even better than seeing his art on international television. Leo and his father will attend Brazil's match against Morocco on June 13 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, trading their usual TV viewing spot for seats in a packed stadium.
