17 Ohio Nurses Pregnant Together, Will Deliver Each Other
Seventeen labor and delivery nurses at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio are all pregnant at the same time. They're planning to bring each other's babies into the world between June and December.
When Rileigh Batten started sharing her pregnancy news at work, she kept hearing the same response: "Me too." By the time the counting stopped, 17 nurses in Miami Valley Hospital's labor and delivery unit were expecting babies together.
The baby boom is expected between June and December 2026. Some of the nurses are first-time moms, while others are adding to their families.
Fifteen of the 17 nurses recently gathered for a group photo, proudly showing off their baby bumps in matching scrubs. The image quickly went viral, drawing congratulations and plenty of jokes about not drinking the water at the Berry Center.
This isn't even the first time this unit has made headlines. Back in 2019, 11 nurses from the same department were pregnant simultaneously.
Amberly Saner, the unit's nurse manager, told ABC News that the number "just kept growing and growing." What makes this situation extra special is that many of these nurses plan to deliver each other's babies.

Rileigh is counting on her best friend Maddie, also pregnant with her second child, to help deliver her baby. They've worked side by side for five years, building the kind of trust that matters most in a delivery room.
"They're just really comfortable and they trust the people that are in that room with them when they're delivering," Saner explained. The nurses share advice, swap stories about morning sickness and cravings, and offer support through every stage of pregnancy.
Sunny's Take
These women spend their days guiding families through one of life's most profound moments. Now they're experiencing it together, surrounded by colleagues who understand exactly what the journey looks like.
By year's end, the unit will have welcomed 17 new babies into what already feels like an extended family. Years from now, those children might discover that before they were even born, their moms were showing up for each other, celebrating milestones together, and preparing to welcome each other's babies into the world.
For anyone worried about staffing, Miami Valley Hospital confirmed they have a robust support team ready to cover maternity leaves. The hospital is celebrating this special chapter alongside their dedicated nurses.
