2,000 Bengaluru Students Earn AI and Coding Certificates

Two thousand students in Bengaluru walked away with professional certifications in AI and coding this month, equipped with the exact skills tech companies are hiring for right now.

The Samsung Innovation Campus program celebrated the milestone at the University of Agricultural Sciences in Bengaluru, where 1,100 students earned AI certification and 900 completed coding and programming courses. The students gained both technical training and soft skills like communication and teamwork that employers say make the difference in landing jobs.

SP Chun, Corporate Vice President at Samsung Southwest Asia, said the program bridges the gap between what students learn in classrooms and what the real world demands. Santosh S. Lad, Karnataka's Labour Minister, noted that tech hub success depends on this kind of partnership between industry and education.

The program operates across 10 states in India and works with the Electronics Sector Skills Council of India through accredited partners. Since launching in 2022, it has focused on bringing tech education to underserved and semi-urban areas where these opportunities are often out of reach.

Women make up 45 percent of participants nationally, showing that when tech training becomes accessible, talented people show up regardless of gender. The program doesn't just teach coding syntax or AI concepts. It prepares students for actual workplace scenarios, giving them confidence to walk into interviews and day-one jobs ready to contribute.

Karnataka government officials emphasized that the state's position as a technology leader depends on exactly this kind of human capital investment. Samsung plans to expand its training efforts in Karnataka as part of a national goal to train 20,000 students in emerging technologies.

The certification ceremony brought together leaders from government, academia, and industry, all recognizing that India's digital economy needs workers who can hit the ground running. These 2,000 students now have credentials that employers recognize and skills they can use immediately.
