24 Ghana Schools Advance in Academic Excellence Quiz

Young students across Ghana's Ashanti Region just proved that academic excellence is alive and thriving in their classrooms.

Twenty-four primary schools have advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2026 Luv FM Vitamilk Primary Schools Quiz after weeks of spirited competition. The seventh edition of the competition kicked off on February 23 with 36 schools vying for the top spots.

Each preliminary contest featured three schools represented by two students who tackled challenges in spelling, general knowledge, and Ghanaian culture. The format kept students on their toes as only the top two teams from each round progressed to the next stage.

Reigning champions Matta Devi School set the bar high with 59 points, the highest score among all qualifying teams. Schools like Divine Grace Preparatory, God Reign Academy of Excellence, and Bosomtwe STEM Academy also secured their places through strong performances.

The competition attracted students from diverse backgrounds across the region. From Jamasi Presby Primary to Supreme Montessori School, young minds demonstrated not just knowledge but confidence and grace under pressure.

The Ripple Effect

This quiz does more than crown winners. It creates a culture where academic achievement gets celebrated as loudly as any sporting victory, showing students that their intellectual efforts matter.

The competition also strengthens students' connection to their heritage through its Ghanaian culture segment. Young people leave the experience not just smarter, but more grounded in their identity and more confident in their abilities.

Thirteen sponsors backed this year's edition, including local businesses and educational publishers. Their support shows how communities can rally behind initiatives that lift up the next generation.

The quarterfinals will air live on Joy Learning, Luv FM, and social media platforms starting March 16 at 2:00 pm. Families across the region will tune in to cheer for their local schools and watch young minds shine.

These 24 schools represent thousands of hours of preparation, countless practice sessions, and the dedication of teachers who believe in their students' potential.
