3 Ohio Seniors Score 31+ on ACT, Earn Top State Honor

Three seniors at Beaver Local High School are celebrating after earning statewide recognition for their outstanding ACT scores and academic excellence.

Zach Redman, Luke Rettos, and Ashton Baker each scored 31 or higher on the ACT, earning them the "Heads Above the Rest" distinction at a ceremony in April. The honor came with $100 scholarships for each student.

Redman received even more recognition when he was nominated as Beaver Local's representative for the Franklin B. Walter All-Scholastic Award. This prestigious award goes to just one senior per county in Ohio each year, making it one of the state's top academic honors.

The Franklin B. Walter program was created by the Ohio Educational Service Center Association to celebrate students who excel in grades, test scores, and school involvement. Winners represent the very best of Ohio's high school talent.

All three students were honored at a special ceremony hosted by the Columbiana County Educational Service Center. The event brought together top academic achievers from schools across the county to celebrate their hard work.
