30 South African Nurses Graduate With 100% Pass Rate

Thirty nursing students just became the latest proof that compassion and excellence can go hand in hand.

Esda Nursing Education Institution in South Africa marked another milestone as its Class of 2025 graduated with a 100% pass rate. The small nursing school has maintained this perfect record since introducing its Higher Certificate program in 2021, proving that quality education doesn't require massive size.

The numbers tell an inspiring story. Fifteen graduates earned distinctions in theory, while nineteen achieved top marks in clinical practice. These aren't just test scores. They represent countless hours of studying, patient care, and mastering skills that will save lives.

Principal Yolanda Els addressed the graduates with words that captured both the challenge and the joy of their journey. "There were long study hours, sacrifices, cups of coffee and perhaps a few unhealthy energy drinks, two-minute noodles, and moments of doubt," she told them. "But there was also laughter, growth, and resilience."

The ceremony celebrated standout students including Thando Thobela, who topped both theory and clinical practice while earning a perseverance award. Zoë Potgieter excelled in theory, Nonkululeko Mogapi led in clinical work, and Tracey van Moekerken was recognized as the most caring student.

The graduation wouldn't have been possible without partnerships across South Africa's healthcare system. The Gauteng Department of Health, Heidelberg Provincial Hospital, and multiple community centers provided training grounds where students learned real-world nursing alongside experienced professionals.
