31 Katy ISD Schools Earn Texas Honor Roll Recognition

A Texas school district is proving that excellence and equity can grow together in classrooms across every grade level.

Katy Independent School District earned statewide recognition in March 2026 when 31 of its campuses made the prestigious Texas Honor Roll. The district itself also received the Honor Roll distinction for outstanding academic achievement and success in closing performance gaps between different student groups.

The annual awards come from the Educational Results Partnership, which analyzes standardized test data to identify schools showing both strong overall results and meaningful progress among historically underserved students. Only about 15 percent of eligible Texas schools made the cut this year.

Katy ISD's honored campuses span every level of education. One high school, 13 junior highs, and 17 elementary schools earned spots on the list by demonstrating consistent academic growth alongside high achievement.

Superintendent Ken Gregorski credits the recognition to educators who refuse to choose between high standards and meeting individual student needs. The district's approach focuses on giving every learner access to rigorous instruction and the specific support they need to succeed.

The Educational Results Partnership reviewed three years of STAAR testing data from 2023 through 2025. Their analysis looked at performance across multiple subjects and student populations to identify schools achieving results in both proficiency rates and year-over-year growth.

Katy ISD's success shows what's possible when districts commit to both excellence and inclusion. With 31 campuses recognized, the district demonstrates that closing achievement gaps doesn't mean lowering expectations. Instead, it requires meeting students where they are and providing equitable access to high-quality learning.

The recognition places Katy among Texas districts with the most Honor Roll campuses statewide. That consistency across dozens of schools suggests the district has built systems that work, not just individual pockets of success.

For thousands of students in the Houston area's Katy communities, these results mean something concrete: schools that help all learners grow, regardless of their starting point.
