529 Young Learners Graduate in Bangsamoro Region
Over 500 children in the Bangsamoro region just completed their early childhood education, marking a milestone for communities rebuilding through peace. The celebrations show how investment in daycare programs is giving young learners a stronger start.
More than 500 young children across Lanao del Sur took their first steps toward formal education this March, completing early childhood programs that barely existed before the Bangsamoro Government was established.
The Ministry of Social Services and Development held moving-up ceremonies from March 23 to 27, celebrating 529 children who finished programs at Child Development Centers and Supervised Neighborhood Plays. The largest ceremony on March 27 recognized 146 graduates in Buadipuso-Buntong.
"They symbolize hope and promise for the future of our community," said Minang M. Nagamora, the town's Municipal Social Welfare Officer. She called the ceremony a meaningful affirmation of the children's growth and readiness for kindergarten.
The ceremonies also honored progress in three other municipalities. Masiu celebrated 207 graduates while Wao recognized 59 children. Pualas marked the achievement of 117 learners from 29 centers.

Dayamon Tawacal, an education supervisor in Buadiposo-Buntong, explained why these early programs matter. Children who complete daycare learn counting and alphabet recognition, making kindergarten and elementary school easier for both students and teachers.
The quality of these programs has improved dramatically under the Bangsamoro Government. Tawacal noted that daycare centers received little attention before BARMM was established, but now receive focused support including feeding programs and resources for child development workers.
The Ripple Effect
These graduation ceremonies represent more than educational milestones. They show communities investing in their youngest members with proper facilities, trained workers, and nutrition support. The early childhood program addresses physical, cognitive, and social development through age-appropriate activities and outdoor play, giving children from different backgrounds an equal foundation for success.
The ceremonies reflect the broader transformation happening across Bangsamoro, where peace dividends are reaching the classroom and creating opportunities that didn't exist for previous generations.
Five hundred twenty-nine children now have a stronger foundation for their educational journey.
