6,000 Women Unite in Nigeria for Progress Summit

Women across Gombe State proved that collective action creates real change when 6,000 voices came together for a single powerful purpose.

Dr. Zainab Jamil Gwamna organized the first-ever Gombe Women's Unity and Progress Summit on Wednesday, bringing together women from all 11 local government areas. Entrepreneurs, professionals, community leaders, and advocates filled APC Square under the theme "Stronger Voices, United Women, Greater Impact."

The summit centered on a simple but transformative idea: when one woman succeeds, she should open doors for others. Dr. Gwamna told participants the goal was building a united movement where women support each other and create pathways for younger generations.

"We must mentor our young girls, support women in business and professions, strengthen our families and contribute meaningfully to our communities," she explained. The massive turnout showed just how ready women were to connect, learn, and build those bridges together.

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya's wife, Dr. Asma'u Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, attended and celebrated the initiative. She reminded everyone that women are essential partners in developing families, communities, and the entire state.
