7 Americans Head to Their 5th Olympics at Age 41

Seven American athletes are proving that age is just a number as they prepare to compete in their fifth Winter Olympics next month in Milan-Cortina, Italy.

The seven athletes are part of a record-breaking 232-member US Olympic team announced Monday by the US Olympic & Paralympic Committee. That's the largest American Winter Olympics squad ever, surpassing the 228 athletes who competed in PyeongChang 2018.

The team includes 98 athletes with prior Olympic experience and 33 who have already won Olympic medals. Among the medal winners are superstars like alpine skier Mikaela Shiffrin and snowboarder Chloe Kim, who each have two Olympic gold medals.

The roster spans generations, from 15-year-old freeskier Abby Winterberger to 54-year-old curler Rich Ruohonen. The team is evenly split with 115 women and 117 men ready to represent the United States.
