7 UGA Alumni Tee Up at Wyndham Championship

When the Wyndham Championship tees off August 5th at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina, seven former Georgia Bulldogs will compete alongside some of golf's biggest names.

The UGA alumni roster reads like a who's who of professional golf success. Sepp Straka, Brian Harman, Harris English, Keith Mitchell, Davis Thompson, Chris Kirk, and Brendon Todd will all represent their alma mater at the tournament.

Harman brings the most recent major championship glory to the group. The Savannah native won the 2023 Open Championship and will make his 11th appearance at Sedgefield, where he once finished third in 2013.

His journey with the tournament started even earlier. As a teenager, Harman won the AJGA Wyndham Invitational two years in a row and claimed the 2003 U.S. Junior Championship before ever stepping foot on Georgia's campus.

Thompson represents the next generation of Bulldogs success. The 27-year-old won the 2024 John Deere Classic and dominated amateur golf during his college days, including winning the 2019 and 2021 NCAA Regionals as the world's top-ranked amateur.

Kirk has found recent success at this specific tournament, finishing tied for fifth last year. The Atlanta native has earned more than $35 million across his six PGA Tour victories.
