71-Year-Old Snooker Rookie Wins Bermuda's Biggest Trophy

Steven Tucker wasn't supposed to win anything when he signed up for the Tony DeSilva Memorial Cup. The 71-year-old former footballer entered the prestigious Bermuda snooker tournament simply to "make up numbers" after his club needed a fill-in player.

Four upset victories later, Tucker stood holding the trophy as the competition's lowest-ranked player turned champion. He defeated heavy favorite Keino Zuill 4-2 in the final at Watford Sports Club on Easter Sunday, stunning spectators who watched the drama unfold on Zuill's home table.

The odds were stacked against Tucker from the start. He had played just three league games all year and lost them all. His opponents included seasoned players with years of competitive experience, while Tucker was brand new to tournament play.
