Actor Kunal Kapoor Launches Doctor-Led Obesity Platform

After spending 14 years helping families crowdfund urgent medical care, actor and entrepreneur Kunal Kapoor noticed something heartbreaking: many patients battling diabetes and heart disease had metabolic problems that went untreated for years before they became emergencies.

Now he's doing something about it. Kapoor has launched MetaGO, a doctor-led platform designed to catch and treat obesity and metabolic conditions early, before they spiral into serious health crises.

The platform offers a complete care package that includes specialist consultations, diagnostic tests measuring over 35 health markers, personalized treatment plans, nutrition coaching, and long-term monitoring. Where doctors determine it's appropriate, patients may also receive GLP-1 therapies, the new generation of medicines that help regulate appetite and blood sugar.

Kapoor co-founded MetaGO with Varun Sheth and Zaheer Adenwala, his partners from healthcare crowdfunding platform Ketto. Their experience connecting with thousands of families during medical emergencies revealed a pattern that kept repeating.

"We met thousands of families at some of the hardest moments of their lives, often after years of diabetes, obesity, or other metabolic conditions had progressed," Kapoor explained. "It became clear that many of those conditions had begun developing years before anyone needed medical treatment."

The timing makes sense. India faces a growing wave of obesity and metabolic disease, and new treatments are transforming what's possible for patients. GLP-1 medicines have opened doors for many people struggling with weight, but healthcare experts emphasize these medications work best alongside medical supervision and lifestyle changes.
