Africa Launches AI Competition for Youth Innovators

The Presidential African Youth in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Competition welcomes participants aged 15 to 35 from across the continent to develop solutions in AI, robotics, and emerging technologies. The initiative aims to accelerate Africa's role in the Fourth Industrial Revolution while creating practical tools for economic growth.

Participants can enter individually or as teams, working on challenges like smart manufacturing systems, AI-driven economic development tools, and digital entrepreneurship solutions. Students, researchers, and entrepreneurs are all encouraged to apply, with those under 18 needing parental consent.

The competition runs until June 30, 2026, with winners announced in September 2026. Beyond recognition, participants gain something arguably more valuable: direct access to investors, policymakers, and industry leaders who can help transform prototypes into scalable businesses.
